Trending Wedding Decor – Saratoga Weddings

It’s no secret that I love weddings, which is why photographing them will always be one of my lifelong passions. I am so blessed that the couples I work with put their full trust in me to capture the true essence of the beginning of the rest of their lives.

If you enjoy everything about weddings as much as I do, head on over to my Pinterest where all of the magic happens. There, you can get a more in depth peek into the breathtaking weddings I had the pleasure of photographing this past year, and you’ll have the chance to see what I mean when I say it’s truly the moments that matter as a photographer.

One of my favorite parts of photographing weddings is the uniqueness that comes with each and every couple.  I have always felt that your wedding décor should fully represent you and your personal style – not what you feel is expected of you.

With that being said, it’s my personal opinion and experience, that the more meaningful your wedding décor is, the more memorable it is.

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing some absolutely wonderful couple.  This comes some absolutely stunning and indelible wedding inspiration!

As a lover of all things sugary sweet, of course there were a few cakes and desserts that captured my attention. A favorite dessert display of mine was the rustic outdoor cupcake display at an Upstate NY family farm wedding. I love how well it captured the true essence of their wedding day and the couple themselves. Among other cakes/desserts I enjoyed last season were naked cakes, small bite sized tea cakes and simple white cakes adorned with gorgeous (not to mention trendy) succulents.  I also love when the couple includes their dogs as the cake topper!  One couple had a boston terrier cake topper and another couple proudly displayed their rescue dogs with a custom cake topper!

As for this past season’s floral arrangements, I have to say that the bohemian, free-spirited bouquets took the cake. Among my favorite floral beauties of the season were arrangements of dusty miller, wild flowers, peonies, sprigs of herbs, succulents, hydrangea, and plenty of greens. Large floral table runners, beautiful robust flower crowns and romantic cascading bridal bouquets were undoubtedly my favorites throughout the year.   Check out my floral post – a Q&A with some of my favorite florists!

Other wedding décor I adored this season were oversized marquee lights, vintage china/teacups, old books and pops of this year’s pantone color, marsala. The beautiful brides I worked with last season only further accentuated these details with strikingly gorgeous lace gowns, boho dresses and  of course the crowd favorite – flower crowns!  I just have to say, this season was definitely a great year for wedding décor, so bravo brides!
