Jennifer & Doug: 8.9.12

There are so many things I love about Doug - his intensity, his energy, his love of life and the way he communicates (with everyone – not just me).   He has this rare combination of being a meticulous planner while looking forward to the spontaneous moments in life.  I love how – regardless of how well he does – he always wants to do better. With Doug I can always be myself. He knows every look and every word not spoken.  I love that he even knows the difference between my quiet moments – the „I’m tired“ quiet vs. the „I’m working through a problem in my head“ quiet.   I love how he is both my biggest fan, and also my best critic.  He makes me a better person.  With Doug, I look forward to all the possibilities life has to offer us.

Love is the eternal force of life that brought us together. Love is the force that allows us to face fear and uncertainty with courage. Love is a friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weakness. Love is that invaluable bond that enriches every good thing in life.  Love is her smile and laugh that she shares everyday, love is her touch that is always welcome, love is her gift of giving and positive emotions. Love is that invisible connection that is exquisitely felt as we share life together.

ON FAMILY

Family is important to me as it is that sure constant in your life that is comfortable, familiar and always welcoming.  This has been particularly important to me as I have moved around the globe over the years.  My family has always been there for me.  Regardless of how long I’m away, we come together like we have not been apart.  And regardless of what else is going on in our individual lives, we work together to solve the challenges that face all of us in day-to-day life.  Doug and I continue this is our daily life – we always make time for each other.  This is family.

-Jennifer

Family is important to me as it is the root of all our natural connections to the past, present and future to honor ancestors, family and friends and the individual spiritual journeys of all throughout the ages. Our families give everyone a chance to see the surprising differences, and similarities, we share with our relatives and friends who interconnect with us as an extended family. Family allows us to enjoy memories and help each other in each of our life paths. They are a wonderful excuse to pick up the phone or share a meal with Jennifer, Bradley, Chelsea and other loved ones. Spending time with family is one of the best things you can do. It doesn’t matter if you are not the perfect parent, husband, or wife. What matters is that you give your best to them. Think about the things you put your time into; work, chores, personal accomplishments, and friends. These things are not bad, however putting the same amount of time into family makes a difference.
